I\ve read every single book by CI and loved them all. The Khan series and the fiction are some of the best books I have read. Although this novel is entertaining it is not even close to as good as the others. Unfortunately, not the authors best work. Still going to read the next one - hope it is awesome :-) I have read all of Conn's books and they are all top rated (5 Stars). This work is no exception. It introduces a whole new sphere of historical knowledge. That being Athens and the cradle of democracy and the fight to keep it. The conflict with Persia will bring readers into the history of such words as 'Marathon.' As many of Conn's books require a number of them to tell the whole story.
