I love this series. I love the characters, and especially the dogs. Human trafficking is a subject that needs to be shouted about and brought to the forefront. And I think this book did that admirably. However, I don't like cliffhangers; never have and never will. This book didn't go in depth in a lot of instances where it was warranted. It also repeated things in multiple places, reciting the information almost verbatim, to the point that I had to double check if I had somehow gotten messed up and was on a previous page. I get that there couldn't be a complete resolution at the end of this book, due to the circumstances, but to cut it off in that way? It reeks of the new author tactic that seems popular now to force you into buying their next book - which I would have done anyway, but now I'm just aggravated about it. SPOILERS. So this finished the mystery of his sister and IDK how it happened, if this was re-released or what, but I know I have read this before. It had to have been years ago bc it didn't come up on my kindle list of previous orders. Same complaint that I had with the last 3 of these though and that is there is too much repetition of previous stories thought the entire book. Not just of the Ryder Creed stories but of the Maggie O'dell stories as well. She could have cut down by at least 50 pages if she didn't constantly reference these books. There is also constant reference to what a dogs nose is capable of and the water and feeding ad nauseam. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs and books about them but I don't need to be told the same facts over and over again.That being said I wish Maggie and Ryder would make up their minds on whether to be together or not.
